The 2024 Paris Olympic boxing tournament features 13 weight categories (7 men’s and 6 women’s) with 249 athletes from around the world, including eight Americans. This year marks a significant milestone with gender parity in the boxing field, though the total number of competitors is smaller than in decades past.
Both men and women will compete in five shared weight classes: flyweight, featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight. Additionally, women will compete in the bantamweight division, while men will have heavyweight and super heavyweight divisions.
